Dr. Nour Eissa, BVetMed, MVSc, PhDs
Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Dr. Eissa grew up in the countryside of Egypt, where his love of animals began early in life. His childhood was spent caring for a variety of animals from farm animals, horses, cats, dogs, and birds to wild animals. Dr. Eissa earned his veterinary degree in 2004, ranked 1/117 of his class, and successfully completed several graduate programs e.g.  Master of Veterinary Medical Sciences, a PhD in the Veterinary Medical Sciences, and a PhD in Immunology from well-recognized academic institutions in Egypt, USA, and Canada toward discovering new therapeutic strategies to patients with gastrointestinal diseases.

Dr. Eissa met his future wife (Dr. Hayam Hussein) during the veterinary school and got married in 2007, together they moved around different provinces & states in Egypt, USA,  and Canada, advancing their veterinary skills & making many wonderful friends along the way.

Dr. Eissa is a veterinarian and worldwide immunologist with a career journey that is enriched with several excellence awards, research funding, and research publications. Dr. Eissa has been practicing for 15 years between animal practice and preclinical research toward providing a unique veterinary care system. His enthusiasm and passion for his career turned to a distinction in his clinical skills and dedication to excellent veterinary care. When not at work, Dr. Eissa enjoys soccer, swimming, and volunteering his time toward animal care programs. Dr Eissa lives with his wife Dr. Hussein, their sons (Adam & Ahmad), and their two Siamese cats (Sami & Blitz).

Dr. Hayam Hussein, BVetMed, MVSc, PhD
Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Dr. Hayam Hussein is a small animal veterinarian & practice co-owner with her husband Dr. Eissa. Her interest in being a veterinarian started at an age of five years when she used to watch hundreds of inspiring animals’ stories illustrated on walls of the Pharaonic temples in Egypt. She graduated with BVetMed Degree and finished her Vet. Internal Medicine specialty training requirements along with MVSc degree in 2009 from two different Egyptian Veterinary Schools. In 2015, Dr. Hussein obtained a Ph.D. in Comparative and Vet. Med., from College of Veterinary Medicine, The Ohio State University, USA in which she conducted clinical research and participated/managed multiple veterinary clinical trials. She also worked temporally as a resident veterinarian at the teaching hospital, School of Vet. Med., University of California Davis, USA.

Dr. Hussein moved to Canada and dedicated her career toward providing high standard pet veterinary services. Her love for animals translates to excellence in her skills and dedication to premium veterinary care. Dr. Hussein enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

Tricia Albig
Hospital Manager

Tricia started with us at Kenaston Veterinary Hospital in 2020. She brings over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing, communications, market research, and management of people and processes in organizations.  Tricia loves how she gets to spend time every day getting to know our clients and their pets.  She is proud to be working with Veterinarians with high levels of knowledge and skills. She is always willing to help,  learn and excel in her career. Tricia has three Bulldogs (Bentley, Hudson, & Jordi),  two cats (Ivy and Nial), and a guinea pig (Bean).  She also loves outdoor activities and being involved in her community.

Ella
Receptionist.

Ella is one of our receptionists that will greet you when you call or walk through the door. She previously worked as a receptionist and activities coordinator at an assisted living home for seniors. She is enjoying getting to know clients and their pets. Ella has a diploma as an occupational therapy aide and a micro-credential for an uncertified health care aide. In her free time, Ella performs in musicals and she likes to sing and play guitar, piano and ukulele. She also likes to hang out with her cat, Fergus.

Jamie
Receptionist

Jamie comes to us after working for many years in the customer service industry. She has always had a love for people and animals. She made her transition from customer service to working in one of Winnipeg’s hospitals at the information desk. Her passion for animals has always been strong. She grew up surrounded by cats and dogs and always hoped to make the transition into a veterinary hospital. Jamie is excited to be working with us here and can’t wait to assist clients and take care of their furry friends.

Fallon
Veterinary Assistant

Fallon is a Veterinary Assistant and is currently in school to be a Veterinary Technologist.  Before joining our team, Fallon had worked at previous veterinary clinics for the past 4 years. Once she completes her Veterinary Technologist course, her goal is to become a veterinarian.  Her passions are animal dentistry and pharmacology.  Fallon’s commitment and compassion for animals and animal care are reflected in the treatment she provides to her patients.  She is the proud pet owner of Mildred and Honey. When not working, she loves doing her schooling and studying.

Tricia
Veterinary Office Assistant

Tricia is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has completed the Veterinary Office Assistant Program at Robertson College and a 4 week practicum at The Winnipeg Humane Society. She has experience with both dogs and cats as she volunteered for the Winnipeg Humane Society for 4 years, providing exceptional care to the animals. She also completed a separate 8 week work experience program with the Behavior Department at the Humane Society and has also volunteered at Animal Services. Tricia has completed a course from the International Career School of Canada as a Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor and has worked at a Doggy in daycare. She spends her free time reading her pet magazines, making dog leashes for rescues and knits and crochets for the homeless. She hopes one day to get more dogs and to foster both dogs and cats.

Veronica
Veterinary Office Assistant

Veronica completed the Veterinary Office Assistant Program at Robertson College in September 2021, she completed her 4-week practicum at our office, she enjoyed her practicum so much that she was asked to stay as a Veterinary Assistant at our office. She has over 12 years of customer service experience and has volunteered at D’Arcy’s Arc providing quality care and spending time with the adoptable dogs and cats. Veronica has two dogs, a 14-year-old Shih-Tzu x Yorkie, Milo, and a 9-month-old Husky Mix, Nova, who she adopted in May 2021. Veronica also enjoys Make-up, practicing Yoga and being outdoors. Veronica has always loved animals and she is grateful she is able to work with the exceptional group at our hospital every day, who she is able to learn from to help reach her goals.

Jordan
Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant

Jordan is currently working as a veterinary receptionist/assistant to gain experience and expertise in the veterinary field. Jordan’s dream is to become a veterinarian, she is currently enrolled at the u of m in the pre-veterinary program preparing to go to the Western college of Veterinary Medicine. She has loved animals as far back as she can remember, loves all kinds of animals from small to large. She spends her free time with her cats (Mack and Carlos) and being outside to go fishing and longboarding. She enjoys seeing all the cute and unique faces that come into the clinic and getting to know the clients and patients she has the pleasure of meeting. 

Alyssa
Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant
Alyssa is one of our receptionists that will always greet you with a smile. She previously worked with dogs at a doggy daycare where her love for animals continued to grow. He passion for animals started at a young age but has grown into a love for their stories and the joy that comes with helping them. Her next step is going to Veterinary Technician School and furthering her education in veterinary medicine. When Alyssa isn’t at work, she enjoys taking her dirt bike for a ride, crocheting, spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and cuddling with her cats Oliv and Hank.
